Jessie De Bellis was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She received her first music lessons from her mother when she was four. In 1982 a scholarship enabled her to study at the Instituto Superior de Musica del Uruguay. Receiving the First Prize at the Brasil International Piano Competition 1983 meant the start of an international career. She has performed in some of the greatest concert halls around the world both in solo recitals and with orchestras, performing some of the great classical and romantic piano concertos including works by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky.
De Bellis joined the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia on their world tour, where she gave more than 400 concerto performances in more than 65 countries.
At the Carrick Water Music Festival, she will be performing a Chopin Valse, Nocturne, Impromptu; also a Schubert Impromptu and a Latin American programme.
